Alex Quilt

A Quilt for Little Brother

I have spending most of my time quilting lately.  For this quilt, I was inspired by Camille Roskelley's Zipper quilt.  I saw this fabric, Rocket Age by October Afternoon for Riley Blake, and knew it was right for a little boy!  I followed the Zipper pattern, but recreated the template to 8.6" x 4".  I'm happy to send you the template (in a Silhouette file [SVG] or PDF) - just leave your email in the comments, then head on over to Thimbleblossoms to get the pattern!

This was a really fun quilt to make.  There are a lot of strips to piece together, but the seams fit together so nicely, it is really gratifying!

I am waiting for Big Sister's quilt to come back from Abby Latimer, and as soon as it does, I will post, I promise!  Also in the queue is a pattern I'm working on - which I will be selling on Etsy as soon as I can.  Stay tuned!

Little Brother's Cars Party

Hello Friends!  I apologize for taking so long to post!!  In my defense, I am on Instagram @jbeck2000 much more often, trying to post my weekly progress on projects.  So please visit me there!

That said, I have been wanting to post Little Brother's Cars birthday party for awhile now!

We welcomed our guests with lots of fun decorations.  I love the retro "Radiator Springs" images that often appear with Cars, so I recreated it in Little Brother's name with my Silhouette Cameo.

Everyone was given his or her own "Pit Pass" before being ushered to the jumpy house.  We also had a coloring page table, a temporary tattoo station and a scavenger hunt available for kids who wanted to take a break from jumping.

Lots of fun finger foods:

 And some other random decor:

Then cake time!

Before long, it was time to set out the favors: little gold trophies.  I also had some stickers and plastic cars in there...

I can hardly believe my little boy is 5!

There is so much inspiration for Cars parties!  Most of mine come from/were inspired by this blog and this blog.

Thanks for reading!
