Friendship Fiesta

One of my favorite blogs ever is danamadeit.com.  She constantly encourages me, teaches me, and inspires me by her work.  When I saw this Fiesta Skirt post on her blog, I knew we needed to have a fiesta of our own!  Actually, the timing couldn't have been more perfect: the school year was ending, and Big Sis and her friends needed an excuse to get together one more time for a last hurrah.  So, the day after the last day of school, we invited over all of the girls (and their American Girl dolls) for some fun.

When they arrived, each girl got her own fiesta skirt and hair clip with skirts and clips to match for her doll.

I found the mason jar glasses at Kara's Party Ideas.  I decorated each chair with a name banner, and used 12" x 12" papers from Michael's for placemats.  I was so excited because the papers were absolutely perfect for our friendship theme!

For decor, I used this fabulous tutorial by Silhouette to make photo banners that I strung on the mantel and windows.  I also made strings of confetti by just sewing 1" paper circles together.

The dolls got their own table, of course.  Michael's sells a kit of American Girl paper tableware!

We got chips, salsa and lemonade on the table and then we crafted!  Everyone made postcards for the other girls.  We added address labels and stamps to blank cards so that the girls could write to each other over the summer.

There were some breaks for dancing.

We made photo props using this set from Silhouette.  But Paper Source sells them too.

...among other crafts...Michael's has a huge selection of American Girl crafts.  We also used their doll headband and bracelet set.

Then we got to pose for pics in Austin Powers's car.  Ok, it's not really his.  And they definitely did not take a ride sitting on the top!  :)

 Love these girls!
